We can’t wait for next year’s training to start again, but until then we can finally take a nice break and enjoy our summer.

Two students from the Walnut branch got 3rd and 6th place in SPAR debate after advancing many rounds, this news brought great pride and joy to their coach and parents!

Michelle Pan – 3rd Place SPAR
Nathan Chen – 6th place SPAR

After the tournament, many parents said this event helped the students grow and mature beyond the classroom. Students and families may not all bring home a trophy, but they certainly were all grateful for having experienced it.

Stanford University Tournament Feb. 9th-10th, 2019 »

It was hard work walking in the cold and rain throughout the tournament weekend at Stanford University. But in the record-breaking sized Stanford tournament, Kudos students stood out, met the challenges head-on, and came out a lot wiser than before!

The coaches are very proud of each and every one of the ten Kudos debate team members who competed on the beautiful campus at Stanford. The results are fantastic.

For Public Forum members who were debating against more than two hundred and thirty teams from other schools also went against 10th- and 12th-graders, two teams broke into Triples resulting in the top 48!
For most of the Congress members, this is the first time they combat out of Southern California, all have been fearless, one student broke to finals and ended at 11th, among 115 competitors!

Parents who went with the team came together to help not only their own children but others’, too. In all, a wonderful experience!

12/8-12/9/2018 Cypress College High School Invitational tournament »

The Cypress College Invitational took place on 12/8-12/9/2018. Kudos had 17 students participating in the middle school division.

LD student Christina Feng received perfect scores in her prelim rounds but was met with a strong opponent at the semi-finals and did not advance to Final, but her exceptional debate skills received the judges’ affirmation and she received the First Speaker Award.

Irvine PF students Ava Ye and Helaine Zhao paired up for the first time for this invitational and they were met with high schoolers in their first round.
