Kudos “Theatre Arts” program is part of the leadership development program for 1st to 7th grade students.

Students will be given the opportunity to express their own unique talent and ability in fun, supportive, and creative environments. At the end of the course, students will have a greater understanding of their unique performing abilities and of the interdisciplinary relationship theatre arts has to traditional core subjects.

Students are given the opportunity to develop a variety of communication skills through the program. Our theatre program encourages students to build their self-esteem and confidence. Creativity is encouraged through various classroom exercises,
theatre games and techniques based on the teachings of Viola Spolin. These techniques give students the opportunity to creatively explore different aspects of themselves through the use of body, voice, and mind. At the end of each semester, all students have the opportunity to perform in a musical for their family and peers.

For students who would like to pursue a systematic learning, Kudos offers a year-round, 25-week , 2 hours per weekend, 50-hour program.  In the first half of the program, training will focus on voice, acting, speech and movement.  In the second half, training will focus on voice, acting, speech, movement, singing, and dancing.

Students do more than just perform, handling and learning about all the elements that  must come together for a successful show. Performances are held in May.
